January 7th I took the ENARSI exam, passing it on my first attempt and finally gaining my CCNP Enterprise certification. The exam was difficult, but I did feel like I was blind sighted less with this exam. It was a lot clearer what the exam was about, comparing it to the ENCOR. I planned to take a little bit of a longer break now, but with Cisco Live EMEA coming up, I got the urge to give the CCNP SPCOR a try.

Even though we have run out of IP-addresses in the IPv4 space since a while back, we still have to manage the dynamic nature of client moving around in our networks. In order to handle IP-allocation we usually rely on DHCP. Now, for IPv6 there are a few additional methods of assigning devices IP-addresses dynamically, but we will dive into that in future blog posts.

After about a month of rest from studying I am itching to get started on the next certification. Naturally I will be going for one of the specialisation certifications within the CCNP Enterprise track. I have, since about 4 years back, planned to do CCNP, DevNet Associate, ENCOR and then ENARSI. So this will then be the beginning of the end of the initial certification plan that I had cemented.
